I’ve been volunteering with Pet Haven for a while, and am excited to help them create awareness about “black dog syndrome” and hopefully get some of these wonderful creatures adopted. Pet Haven is partnering with Start Seeing Black Dogs and working super hard to show people just how beautiful black dogs (and cats!) are.
Today, I photographed 2 black cats and 5 black dogs. There’s a few more in the lineup, so look for their photos in the next few days.
If you’d like to learn more about any of these adoptable dogs and cats, please contact Pet Haven or attend the Black Dog Adoption event at the PetCo in Richfield, Saturday, January 31, from 10am – 12pm.
This first pup is 1-year old Ruby. She was such a sweetheart, and really fun to photograph.
This next lab is Daisy. She was super photogenic, and has this great “Who’s your queen?” trick

This lab is Andy. He was really spunky and alot of fun!

This little cutie is Bentley, a poodle + pomeranian. He LOVED the tennis ball!

This girl was admittedly my favorite of the day. If I had a house with a big yard, I think I would totally adopt her myself! Lacy is a big beautiful Rottie mix, and the absolute sweetest dog you’ll meet. She even has her own blog!

On to the kitties! This first little cuddler is Moose. He’s had to have one of his ears amputated, but it doesn’t stop him from playing like a kitten and loving life!

This last black beauty is Panther. He’s a big, handsome boy who’s a little shy, but totally photogenic.

This old lady is not up for adoption, but I wanted to include her because she’s just so cute. (and grumpy!) She’s one of the cats in Moose’s foster home.
