new paper + small dogs = awesome

Friday night was the first night of many to come. It was a playgroup / mini-photo-session-day at Scoopy Poo’s Doghaus. The purpose of these nights is to build a portfolio of work to hang in a Gallery Show at the end of June, and we’re very excited about it! The cost is $10, and you get refreshments, playtime for your pups, and photos with me! Everyone who would like their image(s) in the show will get substantial discounts on prints, and VIP status at the Gallery Reception. Anyone is welcome to participate, so if you’d like more information about this super-fun event, contact Sonja at Scoopy Poo to sign up. (spaces are limited!) Upcoming playgroup/photo-nights will feature Great Danes, all breeds, and small dogs.

I’m in LOVE with my new “plum” paper (which I’ve dubbed “dog-tongue-pink”) and got some amazing images of these little guys! Small dogs are some of my favorite to photograph….they’re so petite and have the best expressions! I couldn’t decide on just a few to post, so I’m posting one of everyone! Get ready for another looooong post!

This is Peyton and Drevyn: (Sonja had some awesome chairs for us to use!)

This Schnauzer had a bad experience with a photographer a few years ago, so unfortunately, she’s terrified of anything camera or light-related :( Poor girl. This is the first and pretty much *only* shot we got:
